Heat loss ?? SE

For whatever reason both conductivity and emissivity specs for PEX and other plastic tubing materials are very hard to find. Without those numbers it's impossible to even make a reasonable guess.

Heat loss ?? SE
Anyone have numbers on heat loss of various uninsulated pipe materials? specifically pex in a 70* air space. I thought that I saw it on Siggy's hydronics design CD but it just has data for copper. I'd like to know what uninsulated pex and PAP are also. I want to show a customer why the suspended tube system recommended by another contractor for his house ain't gonna cut it.0 -
My approach
I wouldn't try and compare designs by the heatloss of bare tube. I would take the heatloss of the space(s) per sq ft and show them required water temp for bare tube vs plates, etc.
When they see, in print, that a proposal won't fly, you're done
Wirsbo deign manual has these charts, I'm sure others' do too.0
