paul's system

one pipe steam system, that instead of having radiator vents that vented to the room, they had a small tube that led back downstairs to a suction device that sucked the air out so the steam could get in faster..the inventer was Andrew Paul, late 1800's..hence the name..many companies copied this design and it went under the generic name of air-line system..but everybody still calls them all ''paul'' systems whether they were made by paul, or marsh, or dunham, etc...hoffman company still makes the vents..
