TINY Circulators Needed

The little DC circulators designed for solar systems look just right. The middle-sized operated at quite low voltage should have enough power and exceptionally long life.

Their A/C versions were WAY too much for this application but...

Was recently working in what's probably the most expensive new house in the entire county. Interior borders on Baronial--even if it is stick built with asphalt shingles and scorched air...

When I "happened" upon the mechanical room heard a rather loud buzz. Big Armstrong circulator operating the DHW recirculation. Motor body very hot and poorly supported. Left note suggesting they contact their plumber. Am e-mailing them Laing info for an appropriate circulator...

    Say ½ gpm @ 2' head. ½" or 3/8" connections.

Want something "reasonable" as opposed to "toy-like" or "laboratory". Would prefer 120VAC, but can deal with using transformers and/or rectification if absolutely necessary.

    Any ideas?

Thanks Hot Rod! No rush on the indirect. Seriously doubt I'll be able to install this season.

    Laing

Laing has some very interesting products. They dont seem to be stocking a lot in the US, so there can be some delays in delivery. They're a German company, but I believe the factory is in Hungary. Laing's European Website has much better info than the US one. The EPR heaters have been of particular interest for us lately for very small jobs. They seem to be quite reliable and flexible.

    small circulators.

Call Wilo North America - Head office is in Calgary.

I went to the Ish Show in Germany this spring. Wilo had on display a small circultor that was the size of a zone valve. R&D Department had designed at small circulator that would replace a zone valve. Small flow rates, great opportunities.

Call Sheldon Schiffner or Steve Thompson about availability.

    circs

Hot Rod is right. Laing makes some nice small circs. Have used many of them with no problems.
