Well, glad I could give some of you a few laughs. But it didn't cost me anything to ask...Thanks for all of the replies. I had to ask...I'd be negligent if I didn't cover all the bases before breezily agreeing to spending the $5.5 K on a new system. Wish I could just put in a couple of gas wall heaters...

Nope, I don't drive a model T but I had an old Mercedes diesel sedan with about 350,000 miles on it (original engine and manual transmission). It was easy to repair and keep it up. Sold it last year to an immigrant from Turkey who asked why I was parting with it.

I know that old boiler was probably delivered by horse drawn carriage, and dates from an era before radio, before disk phonographs, etc. Here in Irvine, CA it would go in a museum, or the historical society wouldn't let you remove it, or some such nonsense.
