If we have bad results with a product....

Will we be allowed to voice our problems on this site? Or will it depend on the manufacturer? Fact is, I have a very well sized hydronic crew installing a product that seems to fail quite quickly. Is it a bad product, or installer error? That's what I want to know. I'm sure other hydronic specialists have used this product, can we mention any names?

    well....

We all have "issues" from time to time, and most air them out somewhere.

Do it in a nice way, with the idea in mind that it could be installer error as well as product problems.

A number of mfgs watch and respond to this site and problems are usually dealt with quickly and fairly.

It helps everyone to know what's going on out there, no matter who's at fault.

    Hey, Joe.....

Go ahead we can all take it. Who hasn't made a mistake or what manufacturer hasn't made something that didn't work that great? I'm reminded of a comment once by a carpenter to a doctor " You get to bury your mistakes, I have to look at mine everyday!" Best Regards.

    bad

This is an educational site. Anything should be with that in mind. Proving claims can be impossible. As long as we can learn from it and it's not mean spirited, I see nothing wrong with it. Dan?
  • Joe, it's been done before

and Dan doesn't mind if it's handled right. Sometimes it takes this to get the manufacturer's attention, especially if one of us suggests we stop using that company's products until they're straightened out :-O

    First off

have you talked to the company about your problems? Or at least the supply house and the rep? It is one thing to have an issue, it is completely another how you (and they) handle it. If the supply house or the rep cant (or wont) answer, have you tried calling the factory?

Are you expecting more out of a product then it was designed to do? Like a 45 gallon indirect to fill a 120 gallon spa tub or supply a 4 unit apartment?

If you cant get an answer (give them a FAIR chance and amount of time, not every person has every answer, even if it is not what you want to hear), then it is reasonable to approach it in a polite way. There may be others, who have run into a similar problem, and were able to solve it on their own.

We at the factory have heard almost every type of problem, from misaplication, to installer error, and as much as I hate to say it, our own.

We both want the same thing, a happy customer.
