wood floors

The hard wood floors in the White House were sanded and refinished every year and replaced every 3-4 years. Finally a product called Dura Seal, Dura Finish and Dura Renovator came out by Minwax, now I believe owned by Sherwin Williams, and it works. I used it on the pine floors in my beach house when it was built and the only thing we have had to do to the floors is wax them every couple of years.

Good luck in your project, but in my opinion don't use a urethane (plastic). It looks good initially, but is topical and does not really connect with the wood.

Sorry for a non-heating question, but I am a wet-head who is refinishing my wood floors. Is the off the shelf polyurethane good, or is there something better?

    floors

Trek its $100.00 per gal. Will do 6 rooms one coat. Will last 15 yrs. Gloss is best. Trek comes in two parts you mix right before its used. Pacific Strong use to be best but it yellows a little over time. Use a floor buffer with a 180 grit screen to rough up old floor or a drywall sander with 180 grit. It drys fast 30 minutes and its the best I know of. good luck do a nice job

Could I get into trouble with overlapping seams with a 30 min. dry time?
