What's the correct way?
When you run a section of baseboard with a return pipe above the element, is it common practice to lay the return pipe on top of the fins? Is there a potential for noise as the pipe expands and contracts, and how do you deal with this? Are there any brands of baseboard that have a channel or a cradle for a return pipe?0 -
argo baseboard has provision for the return above the element. do not lay the pipe on the fins. run the pipe slightly above the fins and suspend with solder for silent return.0 -
If
If you were really concerned about contact of the pipe with the fins you could take a length of pipe insulation and cut it into 1" - 1-1/2" pieces and support the return pipe every thre or four feet or so with the insulation. Don't isulate the whole pipe because it will block the heat.
