    semi heating rad

    Hello wall

Question I replaced 19 castiron convectors and 11 castiron rads due to a freeze up last winter it was on an old Smith Boiler with a 2"

armstrong pump. Upon refilling the system and vent was able to heat all rads and convectors no problem.

The Oilman now changes the boiler to a Weil -Mclain and does a fine job replaces the circ. with a Taco 0010.

Now the rad in the garage only partially heats. The system is a monoflow type on the return side, the rads in question are taken off on a riser pair from the main. The risers branch at the garage3/4 x 1/2 tees to feed the garage rad and continue vertical to feed to 14 section 6 tube rads one floor above. These three rads are the farthest from the boiler. Everything is piped the same as original, all the other groups of convectors are piped the same two or three on a riser pair and work fine. In my opinion I think the circulator is too small. Thats the only thing that has changed.

I don't want to get into the blame game, but in my experience I have never had good luck with cartridge type circulators on radiators. I always use a series 100 (B&G)
In this case I would have used a series 120 Am I wrong?
    Any help appreciated

BTW the longest point is 75 feet away boiler to rad and 75 feet back

Thanks look forward to your thoughts
