Vacuum trap???

What would appear to be a common thermostatic trap, whether a vacuum return condensate or gravity return condensate system, was listed on the engineer's plans as a "vacuum trap".
Can anyone state this is just an ordinary thermostatic steam trap or was there ever a "vacuum trap"?
