Low temp corrosion

Low temperature will condense the hot gases causing acid rain with in the boiler and chimney , You want to maintain above 130* boiler temperature . And yes cast iron could rot out too.

Low temp corrosion
I'm a little unclear on what this is. In wood gasifiers (and maybe other applications) return water temps below 120 can lead to low temp corrosion. Does this occur in the pressure vessel or in the firebox? Also, does it affect cast iron boilers the same as steel plate models? Is it an issue if there is no combustion taking place in the boiler i.e., if it is only being used as a distribution system for hot water from another (say wood-fired) boiler?0 -
contrary to buderus w/ logamatic?
Does that mean I will eventually have a problem with my oil fired buderus? Logamatic had it cruising at 110 degree temps most of December? Should I up the minimun temp to 130 from the factory 105?0 -
I beleive
The Logomatic with out the outdoor reset builds up to 130* degrees before it allows the circulators to turn on.
You will need to keep it clean. Check the sulfur build up in just one year.
