I use Loctite 565, and I can make super clean looking joints. But don't let them fool you, there is thread sealant you just can't see the mess. And I do use dope/tape/dope when I feel it is necessary.

The bushing is not leaking, the leak from the propress fitting left a large stain that also trickled down onto other fittings down below.

Vitodens not touched for three years

I installed this Vitodens boiler in 2004. I have not been back since I commissioned her due to problems between the builder (who I was working for) and the Homeowner.

Anyway, since the builder and the homeowner have settled things the homeowner asked if I would still service the system and I said hey, no matter what it is still my baby!!!

Not too bad after so long, I thought it would have been in worse shape. That is considering all the construction dust that this boiler was ingesting because I had the heat running as soon as the drywall was fastened to the framing so the spackle boys would be comfy.

I also found some propress male adapters that were leaking, hmmmmm

Also notice how messy the electrician was in a 2 million dollar home!

for the pics. It shows why maintenance is necessary. Someone asked me about cleaning of the Prestige and I have to admit. I don't know. Mayby I'll call the guys in Blackwood NJ and bug them about it today. WW

Propress leaks

I have not been on the job since I first commisioned this boiler. That was three years ago. So no, I just took pics and plan to call Viega about it.

I didn't have time to try to repair them, too many service calls out there at the time I was on this job. The leaks are not dripping too bad, maybe once every 10 minutes. But this needs to be addressed soon.

I assume that to make sure they don't leak again I will have to use some Loctite #55 wick cord. Of course we know from the previous thread that the male adapters from propress are suspect already.

Male adapters

I always use teflon tape AND dope.
That male adpater looks lacking in both, as the bushing that seems to be leaking also.
Not saying that propress and their adapters are not the cause, but that's my way and it seems to work.
