This is just a warm (and toasty) thank you for all the suggestions regarding my new Peerless steam boiler. It was the second steam boiler my plumber has installed and it is running great. Supply and return pipes are now fully insulated. The pressure relief has been repositioned and we're happy campers! I have only had two oil deliveries but the K Factor looks like it has jumped from 7.4 up to 10. A big improvement over the "green monster".
Lastly just in case you techies need a fix from a seriously cold place here in New England check out the attached jpeg. Note the wind speed gauge goes to 231 mph and yes they actually had a day that hit 231 (maybe higher but the equipment broke at 231).
