Is this task list complete?

John, I'm a firm believe in ANNUAL maintenance of all heating equipment, especially gas. Maybe not a full cleaning, but certainly check operation of all safeties and condition of heat exchanger along with CO test.....who ever came up with 2-3 years??? Oil is done annually, but not just because the gas boys says it's dirtier, it's done for efficiency purposes. And if the gas boys say a gas appliance doesn't soot up........tell me another joke.!!!

What's missing?
I saw this in a newspaper today, by a writer for the general media. Is this list complete? (Hint: I don't think so.)
"Furnaces should be professionally inspected every two to three years, and if it's time for that routine maintenance, know you're getting what you pay for. A professional should complete these tasks:
Remove and clean burners.
Clean and check heat exchanger for cracks.
Remove the blower and clean blower blades.
Lubricate moving parts.
Check evaporator coil if there is central air.
Check air filter.
Measure voltage and current on motor.
Check starting cycles.
Make sure thermostat is working properly.
Check visible ductwork for leaks."
Just an FYI: This same writer had another article in a different area of the newspaper with the headline: "Tune up furnace yourself and save money."0
