Can't throw anything away----

I have a family problem--Junkitis-- can't seem to throw anything away. Tried to clean up the basement and came across a lead runner. Looks to be in great shape ( looks like it was never use to me), 23 inches long about 1 inch round with metal caps on the ends and a spring clamp chained to one end. Just can't throw it away.

I could get oakum, but not runner, had to settle
for lead wool, Yuck !

Hey, mad dog, are yours old school asbestos or the newer non-asbestos variety? Do the new ones work as well as the
asbestos ones?
