Just this week, which we installed back in 1997. Coinciding it's now 10 years old, made of steel and was getting it's second "annual" service since installed I was impressed.
Mine you this was a 3 hour service, but once done had an eff of 85% and no staining on house at all.

I've heard from some fellow contractors and one or two sales reps that direct vent oil boilers do not hold up as long as their counterparts. Can anyone elaborate as to why this is? Many thanks0 -

really haven't been around long enough to determine that.I don't see how DV or not would have any effect on boiler lifespan.The issues are odor,sooting and staining
