    I saw a bunch of Moon Pie & RC Cola items in a gift shop here in Nashville today and it aroused my curiosity. Seems like an odd combo but it supposedly is a "Southern thing" that began in this area of the country. Seems that both products were cheap and filled a person up.

    Just a little Friday tidbit.

    Look on the shelf at a grocery store down south

    The have a lovely canned product called "Whole Hog Sausage"
    Read the can, ingredients are Whole Hog, Spices, water...

    I got to finally meet him at the big ugly,Boston...and can only assume that sugar is his vice of choice. (So much energy after a day of work and driving in...Its just got to be!) If I had that at anytime of the day I think the "crash" would put me out of commission. Us "2nd oldest guys" gotta wach our waistline. Chris

    You're right, it is Ko-Cola, but I figured these lovable Yankees would never figure it out. After all it's almost 'pop' to them.

    You've never put salted peanuts in a 12 ounce returnable bottle of Coke?

    correct pronunciation

    It's pronounced, " are-a see ko-kola anda' moon pie" as fast and as monosyllabic as possible.

    Can't get boiled peanut up here--they roast 'em dry and boring as hell and these damn Yankees don't have cole slaw or chili for hot dogs! If you ask for cole slaw they weigh it out and charge you from the deli!

    Of course, they also put that ketchup/ molasses/ sugary crap on an oven baked chicken and call it BBQ!

    Can't even buy most normal veggies in the grocery stores here.

    They also think it is a compliment to call anyone with a Southern accent a Red Neck. If anyone with a Southern accent calls in to a radio show, they have banjo music cued up in an instant.

    Worst of all, the dang stores were still open yesterday. They just don't seem to know their holidays or appreciate really great men.

    What a thread!

    LMAO!!!...Moon Pies available at every Cracker Barrel restaurant ( except for Yankees!) RC cola not a big seller anymore, but still get it occasionaly, just like National Bohemian Beer.
