traps

Hi Ross,
Some buckets need to, and some don't. It can vary by manufacturer. I feel it is a good idea to do it anyway, or steam may blow through. Most traps have a plug at the top that can be removed to prime. If you remove the cover, it might tear up the gasket.
Best regards, Pat

trap priming
In The Lost Art, Dan talks about priming inverted bucket traps. Question: won't the trap self-prime once enough condensate forms (like at startup)?
Second question: how do you prime a trap? Does the top just unbolt, allowing access to dump some water in?0
