Natural Gas Prices

we just rec'd our monthly gas invoice. Works out to $13.68 GJ or $.0144 cuft (plus taxes @ 10%). With LNG supplementing NA supplies not coming on stream for a least 5 years (from middle east and elsewhere) it appears the higher commodity prices are here to stay.

Interesting!
I had no idea that LNG was being tankered that far...
Well, I suppose some ship builders ought to be happy. With those kinds of distances, the LNG tankers will transition for a long time and hence quite a few will be required to keep a LNG terminal happy.
A LNG tanker crew I spoke to described how unloading and loading only takes a day or two, but the transition from Trinidad to Boston takes about a week. Fascinating ship, BTW, and very, very clean. They use the off-gassing from the LNG tanks to power the ship... and anything floating that's 900+' long and multiple stories high is impressive to say the least!0 -
Quite right!
Wonderful vessels. It is my understanding that it is infrastructure on both sides of the coastline that is the weak point. Most regasification plants are not on line for several years.0
