balancing 2 buildings using one boiler

Am using a Kewanee C-2752 retrofitted boiler with a Carlin 501 using a 7.5 gallon head on a single pipe steam system. Two buildings of differing heights, although the same number of floors and differing cubature are heated from this boiler, there are 18 units in the bldg with the boiler and 12 in the 'distant' one. Have had major balancing issued caused in part due to the fact that in piping the buildings the 5 inch pipe was used for the building where the boiler is located. The second more 'distant' building has 4 inch piping and 11 right angles prior to the final riser. I BOUGHT IT THIS WAY THIS IS THE WAY THE DEAD MEN PIPED IT don't blame me.

The initial differential between the two buildings was 35 (yes 35) minutes between the time the last radiator in the boiler bldg and the last one in the distant bldg got hot. I have installed a Gorton #1 at the end of each run in the boiler building and have used a total of 7 (yes 7) #2 in the 'distant' building. 3 of the Gortons are located at the next to last right angle and the remaining 4 are located just after the final right angle, however the final riser is located just PRIOR to the final right angle (THAT IS WHERE THE DEAD MEN TAPPED THE LINE don't blame me).

Currently the heat reaches the 3 Gorton #2 within 60 sec of when it reaches the Gorton #1(boiler building).... then it stalls for 5 minutes on the final 50 feet of the run for a difference of 10 minutes before the final e=radiator is hot.. obviously the boiler building is now overheated .. Question - would relocating more of the #2 vents to the next to last right angle help this problem, ie. speed the steam down those 50 feet?
Should I consider drilling/tapping into the run prior to the last right angle and moving the #2 vents there?

Additionally in order to speed matters I placed 2 Gorton Ds on the final riser (yes there are radiators off that riser).. and as I have reduced pressure (am using a vaporstat) the penultimate (fancy word for next to last) riser does not heat above the second floor (no there are no radiators on this riser)and I am considering adding a second D to vent this riser. Should I also replace the Gorton Ds on the radiators on the final riser with Gorton Cs?

Ok, long description but I think the details are necessary. If I missed something let me know... and I will respond...

Thanks

Krystyna

Is building two in a different time zone?

    In the distant building.

It seems everything goes fine up to the 3 G.2 after that things slow down even though there are 4 more G.2 further down?

It is fine to have the vents on the last bit of main, after all the risers have left. I think that's what you describe.

When you mention you put vents on the risers, is that upstairs at the highest point where they end?

    Here are some thoughts.

Adding vents on the top of each slow riser might help. Perhaps there is more air in all those risers than in the 4 in main.

How does the condensate pouring down from the risers on warm up interfere with the flow of steam in the main. Could a cold shower of condensate stall the steam past those first 3 G.2?

Is the long main with all those kinks well pitched and perhaps well dripped? When rushing steam sees a puddle of condensate, it simply has to go play in it, and it might forget what the rush is all about. Do you have any banging?

    Balance

    Are those mains well insulated?
