The "good ol' boy" mentality is much more likely to keep me from posting here than anyone who may or may not have knowledge to spread to others. If what anyone says is incorrect, almost always there is someone to correct them immediately. I generally avoid the non-technical threads. I'm not here to BS. (nothing wrong with bs) I'm here to learn and hopefully I have a couple of bits of knowledge I might share from time to time. Experience is often helpful, but it can also be a hindrance. A different viewpoint occasionally causes people to rethink things they thought they knew. That's what I like about The Wall, and it takes everyone, including Ken and Constantin, to make that happen.

The subject: Mr Ken Secor. A more ornery and peculiar fellow than you have done met...a big man, too! A thorn in one's side.....always there to remind you of the things you have failed to consider...the ultimate Devil'sAdvocate. A Man that at one time I hated due to our nasty, brutish, and cataclysmic clash over FLAT RATE Pricing. We'll.... through the battles and over time, I have found the man to be straight up, reliably-consistent, correct on many, many issues, highly intelligent .He gives you the unvarnished truth...makes you wonder if you really DId do all your research. YES! he is a man you might want to punch in the face - if you dare....He is not ALWAYS right and I do not always agree with him. HOWEVER! THIS!!!!! IS a man whom I would gladly walk in to battle with. Viessman is a fine product - no doubt about it! However, I can totally sympathize with his predicament...the frustration...the supply problems. I know there is friction between Steve Ebels ( a real gentleman) and Ken over the Fishing trip, and I don't wish to intercede there, but I think Ken is not all wrong here. Some of you guys complain the wall's not what it used to be, no more fighting and bickering contractor to contractor ... read the posts . Nothings changed except some of you guys don't post as much anymore. Noels got more steam knowledge than I'll ever have. He did'nt like something so he dos'nt post .. what a shame. We need him ! Come on back Pal! Just like you Matt, you add alot. Hunt and his C.O. was a PIA ... BUT He was bring the word to the Mass's. He was doing good by waving the C.O. flag and keeping it in our face. No friction here. I take Ken's flaming arrows about the fishing trip with a grain of salt because I know the truth of the situation. Jason likes to fish and I like to fish. That's about all there is to it. We both happen to be involved in the heating trades, albeit at different ends of the spectrum.

I have deep respect for Ken as a businessman and a lifelong student of the trade we share. I hold no animosity whatsoever toward him now, nor have I ever in the past. When he zings a shot across my bow, I would expect that he would look for one in return. To me a little verbal jousting doesn't mean we are mortal enemies. Far from it. There's a verse in the Bible that compares the interaction between men to "iron sharpening iron". That's the mental picture I have in my head when Ken and I exchange a few "thoughts".

I count him on the hand I use to numerate my friends not enemies.

Hurray i thought you left the planet .Everyone different and you gotta be happy were aren't all the same nor are our views i may be a mere idiot not a home owner but i,m glad your back shielding the flaming arrows of others .The first and foremost thing is this site which our great host has opened up for all to shed there views everything from enegery savings to pipe sizing i always come here i'm not the smartest guy around but coming here has probaly opened lots of brain areas that have been closed for years by public school and who knows what .The one thing we all have in common is our love for our chosen profession and the passing of stupid knoweledge.I can in all honesty say i've learned alot from all of you and i'm over joyed to have this site to visit and learn from and when some one or some ones don,t add the views to the program it distracts from the open areana that we have here .Just remenber that we are all different and you gotta thank god for that it would suck if we where all the same and thought and reasoned all the same so lets put all our differences to the side and remenber what where hear for and that's to make what we do better and to infect others to be and learn and do better then the day before .PS It's excellent to see MD back and posting in CAPS we need everybodies veiw on everything to make it all complete that's what makes life real not all yes mans and no mans Peace from a non spelling idiot clammy

A little off subject but was that you in a Grey Dodge Van on the Belt Parkway near Kennedy Airport aroung 3:30 pm a week ago last Friday. Van had "Mad Dog" for a plate. By the time I could try to pull along side to see if it was you, the van disappeared! just curious if it was you or to let you know that there may be more than one Mad Dog!

As always, I speak my mind: Got REALLY sick of the America and Bush bashing that quite a few here do on a regular basis and in just about everyone of their posts...regardless of subject matter. Do they realize or care how rude and unprofessional this is? As you all I know I love nothing more than a good fight, but as Dan pointed out to me, these verbal melees are not good for business - especially when one has an ad attached to posts....he;s right. I wonder if they think about it or care. I also believe that this vehement hatred is not good or productive for the wall either. I will say it again, and you can look through the archives, I have NEVER incited these incidents. I react when I see the politicizing appear. I never have and never will stand idly by when this country is slapped around....and, it happens all too often here. Last, I have stated time and time again that I really admire homeowners who want to learn and encourage them to fix stuff within their capabilities and will not endanger them or the lives of others. I have helped many a homeowner here. However, I disagree with some here who "give the trade away" and encourage non-to-semi-qualified people to undertake projects they have no business doing.
