Saddle tees on steam mains

My mains apparently have never had vents. To add vents "on the cheap," can I use saddle tees or hubless connectors? Or do I have to bite the bullet and install real tees?

    quick venting fix

    NO hub clamps will melt--forget that idea. saddle clamps have a gasket that will also rot out. try drilling & tapping. seen that work although it is a do-it-yourself special. do it right & do it once. cheap can be very expensive.
