A friend of mine just bought a house that had infloor heating installed with PB in the early 90s.Since it does not have a barrier, what does one do to prevent oxygen contamination. Are oxygen scavengers the proper tool for the job,if so what brand would you recommend.

Yes, no, maybe
yes corrosion inhibitors can handle O2 ingress, BUT they will need to be maintained and boosted as they get "used up" This may get expensive. O2 ingress depends a lot on operating temperatures. The hotter they are run the higher the O2 ingress.
All in all I would think $$ wise I would seperate the boiler from the PS with a heat exchanger. Use stainless pumps, and domestic water expansion tanks, and ALL non ferrous components on the PB side. Check the condition of the current heat source, if it has been running non barrier tube for that long.
I'm not sure how the stainless HX boiler manufactures feel about connections to non barrier tube? Even stainless and brass and bronzes can be corroded, but are better suited to handle it.
I see now all the copper tube boiler manufactures use enamaled or bronze headers, perhaps a copper tube boiler with non ferrous punps, purgers, and expansion tank??
Copper tube boilers last for years in O2 rich applications like swimming pools and DHW.

Hot Rod's right on
What is the heat source?
I'm in the process of doing a similar refit to a PB radiant system that's about 20 years old. I'm just a little south of you....
