Williamson osb-6

Our plumber just installed a Williamson osb-6 which has two risers. He capped one of them claiming that the performance will be 100%. Is there something to worry about? What should I look out for (ie. banging)? Will it effect fuel efficiency?

Is this
a hot-water or steam system?
What does the installation manual specify?0 -

Williamson osb-6 is an oil fired steam boiler identical to the Weil-McLain SGO (except for price). The boiler not only needs the second 2.5" riser piped out but also requires a 3" header and 1.5" equalizer. By code (assuming a permit was taken out) the installers were to of left the manufacturers installation instructions with the unit. Check out the literature left with it (under piping & the MINIMUM SIZES) for this should also contain your warrentee information. I'd be very curious as to weather or not the contractor measured all the radiation in the building. That should be a 638 sq. ft. steam & 1.75 nozzel.
