    because I am simple.

We installed this Vitola this week in one of the large homes over by Lafayette College. 3.5" mains with lots and lots of cast iron. No condensing boilers, mixing valves, controls or anything other than a great boiler. Although, we did do some P/S piping.

Simple and efficient. I like simple.

    Great Work!

That Vitola looks like it has been plumbed to the manufacturers specs, is happy, and it should keep the homeowners happy for years to come. Did you bother with a Vitotronic 200 or is the simpler control "good enough" for this application?

  • Even your simple jobs

come out looking fantastic . That Viessmann looks like one heavy duty piece of equipment . Does it have a propietary burner ? Easy to work on ? Nice change of pace from the beautifully complex artwork you usually work on , huh ?

    Awesome!

Awesome job! It looks more like a piece of art than a boiler. After seeing all the retarded piping and wiring, it's nice to see that someone is putting the time and effort in to make things look that good.

    Only one teensy-weensy question

But why is it in the basement?

Such a beauty deserves to be sitting in the middle of the front parlor, with little doilies on top...

Well, I'm sure most of you understand.

    Thanks for posting the photographs.

    No 200............

just the KK10. The P/S piping allows the system to mix water temps, so it, sort of, self regulates upon demand. The boiler rise is at 30° while the radiators maintain a much tighter more even temperature this way. I may install two stage stats at some point to further enhance comfort and save more fuel. We'll see.

    Definitely like the change, Ron.

We have a couple of radiant projects going, which never seem to end, so I am enjoying this in and out stuff. You would probably have this done by lunch!

Yes, the gas burner is proprietary to Viessmann and pretty easy to work on. After installing quite a few condensers, I forgot just how big (and heavy) the Vitola actually is! Still my all time favorite boiler, though.

    I have to agree

For a lot of applications, even a condenser has a tough time beating a Vitola. One can also bet that given anywhere near decent care, that boiler will still be there in 40-50 years.

We're in the same situation right now Jeff. 7,000 sq ft house with 6,600 ft of snow melt. Seems like we've been at it for 2 months and it's only been two weeks. Trying to get all the outside work complete before snow happens.

    Nice work, as usual!
