Pumping away from the PONPC. If it's existing job I find i much easier to move the Extrol rather than the circulator. As long as you are pumping away from extrol is the main thing.

I agree 100%.
The best of both worlds is to have the air separator and expansion tank at the outlet of the boiler just upstream of the circulator. Absent that, as Robert said, move the expansion tank to the suction-side of the circulator, no matter where it is. That will take care of 85% of the issues related to air removal and ongoing venting...0 -
