This is a drawing of a job I have on file, and I've copied this routeen many times. You use stream traps in the equalizer at the water line of the boiler to eliminate flooding conditions.

    I want to remove a large steam boiler & install two packaged boilers. How do I twin the supply & returns?

    follow manufacturers piping diagrams. and i mean very precisely. multiple steam piping is a bit tricky to say the least. ya gotta get it exact. and good luck.. don't forget the vacuum breaker !
