today i had a call for no heat
first this house is about fifty years old
I'd never seen this tape of baseboard. she got it all over the house
i think this is one problem that she has
now my question is have any you guys seen this type of baseboard up there. here some pictures

........I could tell ya where that came from, but I've never seen that in my 40 plus years in the trade. It's good for the ole mongo pile though.0 -
I didn't know they had home depot in the 50's. But wait, they had sears with their do it yourself heating section in the catalog until the 80's sometime. Did they ship it with a bunch of margarine tubs to catch the leaks? Doesn't look very effective at radiating heat either. The engineering has to be something similar to that of plain copper tube, so if someone tried to change something (like a boiler) using fin tube specs they'd probably end up screwing up the engineering.0
