Residential one-pipe steam system
In our old (100 yr plus) building we have a thermostat on the first floor controlling the boiler in the basement. The boiler supplies steam to single-pipe radiators on the three floors above. Would anyone please suggest a suitable programmable thermostat to replace the present round type?
Also, the system needs balancing by a steam pro. In an effort to balance the system, my plumber replaced a programmable microelectronic thermostat and changed air vents on radiators. It did not work. How do I find a steam pro? Location is Hoboken, NJ.
Thanks for your help!0 -
We've got a " Honeywell Chronotherm III" on our 1 pipe system, works good. Has 4 time/temp sets per day, Sat. & Sun. are seperate.0 -
Hi Alex
We actually have a consultation in New Jersey in the next couple of weeks. We can tell you what's wrong and what needs to be done to correct it. I'm not sure how far we are from Hoboken, but if you punch in our zip code 11040 you can see both of our Find a Professional ads, especially Nassau County Steam Specialist. Mad Dog
