steam boiler problem

It could be any number of things, from bad vents to partially plugged returns. Call in a pro. You obviously have a mechanical float type feeder. These are notorious for adding water when not needed. You can solve that problem by installing a time delay relay or replace the feeder with an electronic unit that has time delay built- in. But by all means find out what the problem is first.

steam boiler problem
I have a residential steam system that is giving me problems. While the burner runs, everything is fine. As soon as the burner stops, the water leaves the boiler and causes a call for more water from the automatic feeder. The water of course returns shortly afterwards, causing the boiler to become flooded after a period of a few days.(depending on how much the system is running). What is causing this??
Thanks for any help.0
