I have a 21 year old williamson oil fired warm air furnace.

    furnaces

Not much of a hot air man myself, but Williamson makes a good unit. If I were to buy a warm air furnace, which I've been informed that I have to for my mother-in-law, it would be a ThermoPride. In my experience, they're the best of the best.

I too agree that Thermo Pride is a great brand. How long will the Williamson last? It is a good unit so I can say with some certainty: Anywhere from one week to 20 years:) Without inspecting it completely it's hard to tell. I tell my customers "Change them when you are ready to, not when it suddenly lets goes and it becomes an emergency, usually in the middle of the night when it's 10° out".

    If maintained...

you should have life left in the old Willie. Ours was 33 years old when we pulled it out of the office. It was fine, the buried tank sprang a leak. Switching to electric backup was cheaper than fighting a new tank and buying oil.

We've installed a few of the "new" Williamsons and found them no where near the quality of the ones like you have. Also support is horrible. I would avoid them.

Thermopride is the way to go. I have only seen 1 fail in ten years, and that was due to the cats using it as a litter box. Great product, great customer support,if ever needed. Where are you located?

    Furnace

I Like Thermopride. Has a much heavier gauge heat exchanger than anyone else. For a more affordable unit, I like Lennox/Armstrong.

    oil furnaces

Thermo pride is a very nice unit. We currently sell Bard, another nice unit. We use the beckett burner. Olsen is another good oil furnace.

I am a tech support representative with ECR International's Olsen division.

There are several considerations for selecting your oil furnace replacement. I would be happy to discuss them in an impartial manner so that you could better decide what si best for your situation.

We manufacture an excellent line of furnaces, and of course I hope you agree.

Too few consumers are willing to do the research, and usually end up disappointed with their new unit, and I for one applaud your decision to be informaed.

Any information you requre, I would be more than happy to assist you.
