NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Wolseley’s North America Division acquired Cal-Steam Supply and its affiliates in a stock transaction completed December 29, 2006.

Founded in 1935, Cal-Steam is a well established distributor of plumbing products in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. During the past 20 years, the company has grown from a single location in San Francisco to 11 locations throughout Northern California. Headquartered in Hayward, Calif., Cal-Steam’s sales for year the ended December 31, 2006 were $174.6 million.

This acquisition compliments Wolseley’s North America Divisions’s established strength in the residential plumbing segment and will serve as a platform to support continued expansion of the commercial plumbing segment across Northern California. The business will operate as Cal-Steam, a Wolseley company, and will be managed by Jim Bresnahan, former executive vice president and newly appointed president. Stuart Corvin & Dana Corvin, former owners, will also remain active in the business.
