There are put together with left/right threaded nipples. There is no practical way to take them apart.

How can I take a wall mounted radiator apart ?
Hi guys: we're remodeling a 100 year old house with one pipe steam. we were give a three section wall mounted radiator. it looks to be three 12x24" sections stacked on top of each other. old neighbor says you loosen the plugs at the top corners and it should come apart. we don't want to damage it. should I just try a pipe wrench on the plugs and just pry it apart or do I need to do something else ? i.e. wd40, it doesn't look like the sections are welded together - would they have to be to be steam tight ? thanks - hope to avoid a hernia lifting the thing.

Why...
..in Good God's name would you want to take apart a cast iron wall mounted radiator that has been enjoying its assembled state for the past 100 years?0
