Pump making noise

Especially in a steam heating system. The bearings of the ot7 are laoding up with rust/dirt.
For this reason alone, it is not suggested that you use a water lubricated pump, but should use a bronze 3 peice pump, like a series 100 or Taco equal.
You will know when it decides to lock up...

Pump making noise
I have a Hot water zone off of a steam boiler. Lately, the pump for the hot water has been whinning. The pump is a Taco Cartridge Circulator Model 007-F5.
From what I've learned from reading, the pump is iron and it is recommended that the pump in this type of setup should be bronze.
Does the whinning mean the pump is about to go ? Should I replace the iron pump with a bronze ?
Thanks,
Scott

Pumps
Install a strainer before the the new pump with a blow- down attached.Weekly or bi-weekly blowdowns depending on the gunk coming out.0
