Pronounciation - Taco Tawco, Tomato Tomawto

Do you say tay-co or taw-co? (Joe can you help?)

Oo-pinor or You-pinor? ...although Wirsbo still works best!

There's probably some others too.

    Some guy came up with that in 1981.
    My first job out of college was as a wholesale salesman with a rep firm in Northern California that was brand new.
    So was I.
    We had the Taco line.
    Those were the boom times of solar. And in northern California, Taco was not the leader in the solar business, to say the least. As a matter of fact, no one had ever heard of us.
    So after some period of time getting frustrated standing next to my market dominating competitor, giving out donuts, and being called a Mexican food, we dicided to go with the flow. The issue, I guess, was that there were people who really wanted to buy the product. Making them satisfied was more important than any thing.
    So we began giving out tacos and beer. That was a winner.
    On vacation this week with my son John. Let me take the moment to wish everyon a great new year.

    The only brand name that I am 100% sure of is the pronunciation of the German pump manufacturer, VElo, and THAT is a mouth full...
