How to determine if iron radiator is still good.

Bought a great old house a few months back with radiator heat. We need to add a radiator to a room in the basement. Heating guy said we could do it, boiler would easily handle additional heating needs BUT we have two raditors in storage and both have visible rust. How do we determine if either of the radiators are still in good shape? Is there a way to find out if it is safe to use?

    is radiator still good

    easest way is to put a hose adapter on radiator and fill with water if it leaks its not good
