Would you replace the boiler?

If you look at the brochure on the dunkirk site. The D247 at 500,000 does 1250 EDR, the next smaller at 400,000 only does 1000. It will not support your connected radiation as I understand it.

    Would you replace the boiler?

My boiler was installed in 1998 before I purchased the house. The boiler is a Dunkirk D247 with a 500,000 BTU input. The square feet of EDR in the house is approximately 1140. Based upon my reading of The Lost Art of Steam Heating, I believe my boiler is oversized. Should I replace the boiler even though it is only eight years old? Would a properly sized boiler for 1140 square feet of EDR have an input of approximately 300,000 BTU?

    Thanks

Thanks. You are right. It appears my boiler is not oversized after all. Thanks again.
