Mack and Myer were actually Joey Faye and Mickey Deems. Two vaudeville actors that started the routine about the inept handymen that was later made into a movie about 1963 or so.

I had a drink or 6 with Marty Ingels in the LA airport many years ago. He was stranded there, as were the rest of us, while trying to get into Chicago during a blizzard. He was then legally separated from Shirley Jones and it was a most miserable time in his life. So technically he wasn't divorced, but was legally estranged at one point of the marraige.
