I have a question about a running Viessman Vitorond Boiler….sort of.

Today I could see white exhaust coming from the chimney whenever it was burning. The boiler water temperature was at 140°F (there is an ODR installed) and the flue gases at the damper were about 160°F (measured via an infrared handheld.) The flue size is 5” in diameter and 17 feet high. It’s an old brick chimney with a SS liner.

The temperature outside was 41°F, the humidity was 95%, and the pressure was 29.77 in.

Under these conditions, would it be normal to see “smoke” or the exhaust from the chimney? I know this probably sounds like a story problem – I just want to make sure this is normal operation. Any info is appreciated.
