Could be a lot of things. Misadjusted electrodes, weak transformer, plugged filter. One thing for sure, it won't get better with time. Call the tech back and have it fixed right.

comes on with a bang
hello, our Beckett afg firing a Weil Mclain boiler comes on with a bang and some smoke and smell of burned oil. not all the time but once or twice a day and to varying degrees of severity. It has been cleaned, new nozzle, electrodes adjusted etc. with no luck. is this a problem of delayed ignition? any ideas. thanks in advance, Greg0
