New Boiler, a few questions

I just had a new boiler put into my house. We had a Smith boiler put in around Halloween to replace our 36 year old Mt. Hawley 7000 series. I really enjoy the efficiency of the new boiler compared to the old gas hog, however, this one is louder than the old. I live in a ranch style house and the boiler room is directly under my kitchen in the center of my basement. The boiler room has paneling walls but is not insulated or sound proofed. You don't notice the noise if the tv is on or other distractions. Is it normal that I can hear the boiler upstairs in all my rooms? What can I do to mute the sound a bit? I realize I should hear something, but I didn't think it would be this loud. It sounds like my drier is on. It doesn't stay on too long, but it is definitnely something I have to get used too. Also, I've purged and purged my purge valves on the upper level, how long does it take to get the air out of the system? It really isn't too bad anymore, but occassionally you can hear the air. The problem is now that I've done it for a while, I don't get any air out of the purge valves, all I get is water, a very small stream of water. The company who installed it, which I will never use again, said their work is done and I should just keep bleeding it until it's gone.

Pictures would go along ways. System layout and model of boiler. It would help on above questions.

    Wow

I love that one: "The company who installed it, which I will never use again, said their work is done and I should just keep bleeding it until it's gone."

Unbelievable. Why are you bleeding the system when you paid a company to do the work. Bleeding the system of air is part of any boiler replacement.

    The jobs not done...

The jobs not done when the check clears...If you are having air problems they need to return and take care of it,
as far as the noise level, try adding insulation in the floor joist above the boiler.
