Great install. I am begining my first Vitosol 300 install. I think in my climate COLD and windy in the colorado mountains, the performance pays for itself. The tanks can be very busy. So far though I am impressed on the performance of just the top coil. I have 4 installs going in right now and we haven't yet installed the collectors so we are just using the boiler. Seems to work just fine with the tank temp around 140 degrees. What type of heat distrbution are you using? I have been only installing Vitodens with low mass radiant(Warmboard). The combo is great together and always condensing.

Thank you Mr. O'Brien. I did this job back in June 2006.I've recently changed the paint scheme though (a little bit)I forgot to post the before photo.I installed the before one seventeen years ago ( back when I used to listen to the boss)0 -
Thanks. I try always to sell a solar indirect with every boiler with a south-facing roof and the customers are usually interested. I have recently lost a couple solar jobs due to viessmann not having any tanks in stock. Do you have this problem also? Sometimes for quick change-outs we can not wait two months for a solar tank.
This particular job had three zones of fin tube. I checked on this job during summer months and it always had 170* water top and bottom. The boiler had hardly any hours on it.0 -
how do you go through the roof?
very slick installation if i may say so.
i haven't found a nice way to penetrate the roof with the supply/return lines yet, end up using an 1-1/2" foof jack and 3/4" X 1-1/2" copper cplgs. not vey elegant. whats your method?0 -
On this job,the panels were already in place. The original installer penetrated the roof with insulated pipes which were caulked with silicone to the shingles. They have been in place for 30 years with no leaks so far. For metal roofs I found a company which manufactures seals called Uniseal( www.aussieglobe.com)0
