    Caleffi Mixing Valves

Are they good? What's their price like compared to Taco or Honeywell?

    Caleffi

The small ones are great. As I recall, the less expensive versions all had the same Cv (3.0) regardless of size so the 3/4" are the ones that make the most sense based on that. The high Cv ones are expensive in my opinion, but Caleffi quality is always excellent. The Honeywell V135 mixing valves with the T100R actuators are a nice high quality lower cost option when higher flows are required. The Honeywell 1" has a Cv of 5.8 for 1" and 1 1/4" sizes, 11.7 for 1 1/2". The price difference between Caleffi and Honeywell is pretty significant for the larger valves.

there is something i would like to ask you ....

do you have one handy? ..

it takes one side of forever to see some things ,....i am curious is there an additional port on the three way ? if so, i saw what looked like a means to use it for two seperate applications at the same time,...what i mean by that specifically is, a means to use a prioritization feature that will control flow one way and then turn that flow off and open the other port and enable another circ...if i am wrong, forgive me ...

    Honeywell built some 3 way

thermostatic valves with an additional port for a DHW recirc connection. I believe Gary Hayden was the designer of that feature.
