    Well water for radiant

Just wondering what you guys thought about using well water for radiant? Is there a certain test one should do before using it? How about mixing it with glycol for solar panels? Just want to be sure I don't muck up the system later with deposits. Thanks.

When i am installing boilers on new homes i go get a known water quality. That way you can have something accurate to make a reliable decision as to whats what.

if your water is of unknown quality then, take it in and have it tested.

Water treatment is something that involves a little more than lashing a filter and water softener and calling it good.

here are two tests you can make with your water...get 2 clean glass tumblers, run water out of the kitchen sink with the aeriator removed....put one on the window or some place close about half full of water...take another glass do the same and put about three drops of chlorox in it leave it alone for a few hours... when you come back look at the first glass,is there anything in the bottom of the glass other than water or anything floating around in it or floating on the surface? then look at the other glass...and ask the same questions. if you come up with other questions like "Hmmmm...why is this one yellowish brown...or why does this glass have stuff floating on the surface,or what is that stuff doing in the bottom of the glass?....then my suggestion would be to get a second opinion before dumping it in your system... what i mean by that have two samples taken to two testing outfitts and get two opinions as to how to Treat the water. if any of your children run free at night and have a slight green glow and are apt to howl at the moon on occassion then i suggest that you flush and treat the well, the house and watermaker or move.:)
