Round Radiator at ebay

The round Bundy found a home in Long Beach Ed's 1910 colonial. For $104.50, and about another yard in pipe it's making music with its friends on a one-pipe steam system.
Since it's rated at 54 sq. ft. EDR and only had a 1" supply taping and a 3/4" return, we piped the return through a 4' inverted loop into the bottom of the 1-1/2" supply runout.
Works like a champ. Now I just need a dead plant to sit on top. Maybe a palm tree wouldn't mind the 54 feet EDR...
Thanks, Steamhead, for the reference to the ratings. The photo shows the 300 lb. beast where we picked it up and before repainting.

neat.
there is a store downtown in the town where i live that has this same exact radiator only black. they have a "CAUTION HOT!" sign hanging off it.0 -
A Classic
Seen a few of those at the bases of stairwells and in foyers. Potted plants, most often dead, adorned the top. Umbrellas hung or leaning against them to dry...
Let's monitor the bidding and see what the market dictates as the real value, shall we?0 -
That's a Bundy
the name "Griffing Iron Works" is a dead giveaway.

If you're really interested contact the seller. I've checked before and crating/shipping services are available in the NE. As long as the rad is in their area the cost is only "high" not "awful".0 -

I'm surprised you're not driving to NY to pick it up!! I'd be converting that puppy to a HW rad...I see 2 tappings.

My town library has these.
they are around support columns in a large hall. They have float type hot water vents installed in the steam vent locations. I suppose the top half provides extra expansion but I wonder if the waterline causes corrosion on the inside of the radiator. Just thinking out loud.

Too bad about the marble top
probably worth more than the radiator, and may have the owners $$ expectation too high. Since the reserve is not meet at 50 bucks?
I did notice the taps also. I'd love to have a round one. I also like the types with the bread box built in. I have my eye on one here in Springfield. Still attached and working, however

Glad it found a new home where it will be providing heat for generations to come!0 -
Yes,
Glad it's not just a pedestal for some Greek statue.
Now if only I could find a set of those 8 lb. nickel plated valves with wood handles that don't say "Thiland" on them.
Anyone have some NOS old vales in 1" and 3/4", let me know...

Will keep my eyes out for the valves. Have plenty of original water valves from ¾" to 1¼", but no steam. Tailpieces still inside of the old 2" x tapping bushings...0 -

Ed, call Ken Kunz at Gorton
908-276-1323. He has some in the basement there, not sure what sizes, beautiful nickel-plated lever-handle plug-cock units. Tell him I sent you.

I wish I could just travel around the country collecting old radiators. I see them on eBay all the time. No one even bids on them most of the time.
I have about a dozen brand new coin vents with the wooden knobs. I have been saving them for that special job.

Does anyone still make the wood knob coin vents? Been wondering for a while. Love to find a source...
