WM Ultra noise

I'm finding some condensing boilers really need a yearly cleaning.

I'd be curious to see what the inside looks like. I know what the stainless steel, tight coil, boilers look like when they get dirty.

It might be worth a cover pull. But have a new gasket on hand, first.

    WM Ultra noise

Got a WM Ultra 105 thats been running great for 2 years, however in the last week I'm getting an intermittant noise during start up. Sounds like you're clearing your throat (a real small rumble. The units lights up no problem an the noise disappears. I have the monitor software running so no error codes. I did a Testo combustion check and the numbers are on the money. Have not checked gas pressures yet. What should I look for. As I said it only makes the noise once or twice a day, the other start times its as quest as a church mouse

No not just from a cold start. The system operates 2 zones of radiant, two spearate hydro air coils plus a Viesmann indirect hot water heater. At first I thought it was only from a cold start, but now I notice that it makes the noise occasionally just while its running. I've check the monitor software, the unit was purring along at about 30% capacity & the noise came and went. The noise is a low rumble or a transient vibration for a second, kinda like clearing your throat

    LP????

Is there a chance that the unit is running on LP???
Have noticed that more with LP gas fired units, however ususally if they do that they are at low fire. Is there a chance the exhaust is getting back to the intake??
Bumping the low fire fan speed a couple of hundred RPM usually fixes the problem.

No its running on natural gas. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll order a gasket today & open it up and look inside. Maybe the burner compartment has some junk in it
