weil mclain states limits must be wired into line voltage circuit as opposed to 24 volt circuit. would this be code related gospel or simply a manufactures preference ? i would not consider to cut into any factory fabricated harnesses only field assembled wiring. bob young

My opinion
The control itself dictates how the limits shall work. Weil Mclain as well as other manufaturers use different set-ups for their particular pieces of equipment. Your local code ref. will basically either make sure you have adequate protection or tell you that you have to "Add by other". meaning you have to add controls to their say so. You may want to consult Weil Mclain as to why and or if you can modify the design. They have the final say on their product. My opinion,...I like to use ALL my safety controls to interupt the burner circuit ONLY, usually 24vac.0
