To my knowledge you still cannot run up the outside of a house so were you exit you terminate.
Under 7 feet you need the sign, hard wired co alarm with battery backup on the equipment level and battery or hard on each other living level.
Hard wired does not mean plug in.
Just went through this with a replacement water heater the original was eight inches above grade. We were able to regrade for a total of 24" and the landscapers have to do the rest.
That or come up in the home office then go outside. 2 plus million dollar home I do not think they would like that.
