but I have had several give us product to sell or credit our account at the supply house we bought the products from.

Usually it is a gesture amount not full rate. All I expect from them is good tech support and someway to cover my expense for time lost I do not expect to get my full rate.

Those that do not support me don't get my business. And I do pass my stories to my fellow tradesman.

Manufacturing Mistakes and Who gets Stuck for the repair

Last summer installed a radiant system in a new home. Two months later, homeowner calls and informs me there is two small leaks on the staple-up portion. I found two manifolds that had small leaks at the point where the branch connects to the manifold, these were fabricated by the manufactuer. Leak rate, about a drop every 1/2 hour. I shut the boiler down, drain the two seperate zones, disconnect the tubing from the manifolds, solder the leaks. Reconnect the tubing, fill the two zones and check for leaks. Took pictures before and after for rembursement. Submited the pictures and bill for 2 hours labor and 1 hour travel to the manufactures' rep., total of $180.00. Reply from manufacturer, price was too high for repairs, and will not pay. Needless to say, will not be using thier products ever again. Slightly PO...

i drove 3.5 hours to get a OEM Dunkirk ignitor, so's a customers bldg didn't freeze

that after finding dunkirk had a retrofit kit for the pressure switches i replaced 2X due to condensate damage, poor design

of course the job was 130 mi away , too ...
