Not only is that excessive, but down right over kill. If it were my house I would also use propane instead of oil. Just my opinion.

    WOW! What do you think?

A warehouse employee of ours said his daughter is purchasing a 2720 sq/ft modular home. The builder say his plumber will put in a 315,000 btu oil boiler. Yep, you heard me right. He must have stock in the oil market. Anybody have a spare Helicopter to help lower this monster in the the basement?

Just fill it with water and take off the jacket, run the low limit about 140 and there you go !

    At 80% efficiency

assuming the 315K is input, that works out to be 92.6 BTUH per square foot.

Where in Pt. Barrow is the house located again?

they must be putting a snow melt system thru out the entire yard:)

  • hey, hey now. We all know when the boiler is on, it's burning oil. So obviously if you put in a boiler that's only on for 3 seconds at a time, you're saving fuel, right!??!?!!?!?

I'd smile but that's pretty incompetant and really it's pretty sad.

    Why stop there?

    A million btu's are better than a skimpy 300.

When you find out what this champions name is, e-mail it to me.

Now if you were a scum-bag supplier, which you are not, you would have sold the ape his 300k boiler and made a pretty penny.

    You're learning.

    Girlie man

Don't you know it is more macho to muscle that thing in place than something smaller. The more you huff and puff the more you can charge, right :)

    Must be the same guy

That put a 680,000 btu/hr Weil LGB in a 2,200 sq ft home a few blocks from me (running at full bore) complete with a commercial gas meter on the home. Someone even had replaced a couple of sections on it at one time, the old cracked sections were still there. The previous boiler was still there with the rating plate of 270,000 input. I put in 200,000 in the one pipe steam system, cut thier bill by about half.

    GEEZ!!
