The phone number for Gorton is (908) 276-1323. Speak to Ken. He is terrific and can guide you as to what size vents need to go on each radiator.
Also speak to Ken about the main vents in your basement. Properly venting the mains is very important.
Ken speaks very highly of Gerry, so listen to both of them.
Chuck
P.S. If Gerry reads this again, I would like to speak to him. My work number is 646 424 7054.

1 pipe steam system
I have one pipe steam heat in my home. I need to find a place to purchase new air valves for my radiators. Or should I purchase thermostatic relief valves? I am trying to make this system as efficient as possible and am new to steam heat. We have very hard water here in N.Y. (Caledonia) and I think the air valves are corroded. Any ihelp would be appreciatrd!!!0 -
I'd use
gorton vents on the radiators and only put thermostatic vents on rooms that overheat..you can call gorton and they will tell you who sells their vents in your area...they are listed at the left, under the virtual trade show.

Sorry, that just brought a B.B. King song to mind
Try This Book for home owners with steam. "We Got Steam Heat" in the Books and More section of this site.
You might try calling V.J. Stanley in Rochester for vents.
